Starry-eyed and blue skies.
All she sees is the faint distance of the horizon; where the ocean gently graces the sky and the setting sun shines its reflection on all that sits below. All day she has been making cupcakes, all day she has been painting, and all day she has been writing down in her worn out notebook whatever little words trickle into her thick skull. Her mother warned her of the life of foolishness, but she didn't listen to her mothers words, the words only a mother could provide from the depths of her belly. The same belly the carried a seed for so long. All her mother wanted to do was to plant her darling seed on rich and fertile soil so that she, unlike her mother, wouldn't land on dry soil and wither away without leaving a single mark into the earth.
As she sits on the shore, the waves wash away her sanity, but she is not crazy. She knows exactly what she was doing, but she didn't know how it would all unfold. As she licks her salty lips, she wonders what her life could have been. Where would she be? Would she be traveling down her mothers path or her own? More importantly, would she be happy what ever decision it may have been? A salty tear ran down her copper and fallow cheeks ever so slowly. Her pointer finger dipped into the icing and popped into her mouth. She closed her eyes and let the tears flow. Her tears are like the stars in the moonlight and she let them dance.
While her thoughts are in array, she hears a tiny little voice. She wipes the stars out of her eyes, and sets them upon her own seed. In her tiny little hands is a cupcake. The little girl smiles and giggles as a man scoops her up into his strong arms. She and her husband lock eyes and smile. The woman grabs her notebook of scribbles, her paintbrushes, and her cupcake.
Happy Thanksgiving to yall!
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. I had a great day. I was surrounded by family, friends, and food. I finally met my mama's boyfriend today also. He is quite the...character. Interesting to say the least. If she's happy, I'm happy. My life is wonderful. I honestly can't complain; I have a lot to be thankful for.
Btw- Remember the pregnant sister? Well she's about 5 months now and it's a boy! I was rooting for a girl, but as long as he's healthy and happy it's all good. I'm going to be an auntie in April! It's so crazy. Say hello to Pierre. :)

“ I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
- Michael Jordan
"For the essence of capitalism, Marx pointed out, is precisely its tendency to reduce everything to calculations of profitability. In the process, human values are subordinated to economic ones and the consideration of human beings gets lost in the capitalist machinery."
~ Randall Collins, Sociological Insight.
When will life begin for me?
- the thrill
- joy
- happiness
- meaning
- my purpose
When will I not just exist, but actually live?
Marz Lovejoy; Words to live by.
1. Set big, big, big goals! Set goals that inspire you. Set goals for what you really want. Don’t let past performance or circumstances dictate your goals. Set goals for your heart’s desire. Your history is not your destiny.
2. Put a time limit on achieving your goal! Begin with the end in mind. Break it down. Decide where you will be in 30 days, 90 days, 6 months and 1 year from now. Put it in writing. Make a plan.
3. Draw a line in the sand. Don’t let anyone steal your dream! Do not give your time or your energy to anyone who does not support you. Stop giving your time and energy to activities that are not rewarding and do not help you achieve your goals.
4. Know your why. Write down why you want to achieve your goal. Make sure that you are doing what you want and not what someone else thinks you should do. You must know why. How will you feel when you accomplish your goal? What’s your payoff? Do you want recognition, security, and financial reward? Know why!
5. Believe in yourself! Write down 5 new things that you would have to believe about yourself to accomplish your goal. Build a new belief system that supports you. Make a decision to let go of beliefs that do not serve you.
6. Set your intention(s) every day. Write down 3 things you can do daily that will bring you closer to achieving your goal. Focus focus focus on your plan every day. You must taken action every day. Stay focused on results.
7. Act like the person you want to become. Act on faith. Start to think and act like the person you want to become. Have confidence in yourself. Learn what you need to learn. Stay positive. Think about winning. Model someone who has what you want. Turn off the tv. Tune in to your personal power.
red head shawty.
I dyed my hair...again. :)
I love it, love it, love it.
I'm going to keep it this way for a very very long time.
I also want it redder, so that's on the agenda within the next week.
By the way, I am the epitome of what not to do to your hair.
I've dyed my hair 3 times in 6 months.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to get it cut very low sometime soon,
but I'm not bothered at all by the idea.
I must read:

- Outliers: The Story of Sucess by Malcolm Gladwell
- Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
